Mike Patino

Mike Patino brings decades of labor leadership and political organizing experience to The Lightning Strike. He spent 35 years with American Airlines, serving as a Crew Chief Fleet Service Clerk, while rising through the ranks of the Transport Workers Union of America Local 502, where he served as Shop Steward, Vice President, and President.

Mike chaired key committees, including Grievance, Safety, and COPE, leading contract enforcement, arbitration cases, and political engagement efforts. He represented labor at numerous conventions, including the AFL-CIO national conventions.

Beyond union leadership, Mike has worked extensively in political organizing and consulting across Texas and Illinois. He has served as a precinct committeeperson, held leadership roles in Democratic organizations, and supported campaigns at multiple levels.

Currently active with Our Illinois Revolution and Illinois Berniecrats, Mike continues his lifelong commitment to workers’ rights and grassroots advocacy.
